Super Science!

Did you know that a certain plant can kill Mosquitoes, Mosquito larvae, and the Anopheles mosquito that caries Malaria? Yep! It's true! According to Indian scientist from India's capital, New Delhi, Padma Vasudevan, the Mentha piperita plant* is a great "Repellent."  How did they discover this? Well, they first took oil from the Mentha piperita plant and poured it on top of water that contained mosquito larvae. when they came back the next day, they found that the larvae were dead.
Many people decided to test this theory, so what they would do is they would take oil from the Mentha piperita plant, rub it on their body and slept outside. 8 out of the 10 people said they did not get one bite! Wow! Who knew that peppermint could be so useful!
And that's today's Super Science!

* Mentha piperita is the Latin name for thought. It is also the botanical name for Peppermint!
